Power Peel

This treatment is a great way to receive a deep exfoliation cleanse on your face to address any skin type. This facial treatment opens with dermaplaning followed by an application of an organic enzyme peel, leaving your skin ready to absorb our Organic nutrient infused moisturizers with SPF. 45 mins $119

This is an excellent treatment for invigorating and revitalizing our skin. This treatment may also be used to enhance the absorption of our organic enzyme peels. Dermaplaning is usually only performed on the face and generally excludes treatment of the eye lids, nose, neck, or chest. Along with discarding away dead skin cells, dermaplaning can help reduce the visibility of acne scarring, slight wrinkling and dark spots, as well as do away with extraneous vellous hairs (tiny peach fuzz) on the face. Furthermore, dermaplaning treatments can target specific areas of need more easily and skillfully than other procedures that use larger instruments and focus on the face as a whole. 30 mins $92

What Is Dermaplaning?

Simply put, dermaplaning is highly effective exfoliation. You might use special cloths or scrubs designed to exfoliate your skin as part of your current skincare routine. These products do help to exfoliate the skin, but they’re limited in how much they can do. Dermaplaning uses a special tool, called a dermatome, to exfoliate more than topical products can.

The dermatome is a special surgical blade, but it isn’t used to cut the skin. It’s designed to remove the dead cells stubbornly sitting on the surface of the skin. It’s used on bare skin, and no solvents or chemicals are necessary to loosen the dead cells. This is what makes dermaplaning a great choice for people with sensitive skin or product allergies.

The dermatome is passed over the skin, similar to shaving. It never goes near the delicate skin of the eyelids. In just a few short minutes, the healthy new skin that was hidden beneath all the dead skin cells is now at the top. It doesn’t hurt, and you’re ready to walk right out the door.

What Does Dermaplaning Treat?

Dermaplaning treats a wealth of skin concerns. It’s a favorite among people who frequently experience dry skin, especially when the dryness leaves visible flaky patches. Dermaplaning can also be used to reduce the appearance of acne scars or dark spots, which are far more noticeable with dry or dead skin cells clinging to them.

Dermaplaning removes lanugo, sometimes referred to as peach fuzz. These are the fine hairs that cover the face, and affect some people more than others. People who wear face makeup find that it applies smoothly after their peach fuzz has been removed with dermaplaning.

If you experience fine lines, dermaplaning may help with those as well. With dead skin cells removed from the surface of the skin, the cell turnover process speeds up. This allows the body to naturally repair itself quickly and efficiently, resulting in healthier and firmer skin.

Is Dermaplaning Like Microdermabrasion?

Dermaplaning and microdermabrasion share a common goal – they just achieve it in different ways. Dermaplaning utilizes a blade to manually exfoliate the skin. It’s easier to target specific concerns or things like large patches of dry skin. Microdermabrasion uses exfoliating crystals applied to the skin with pressure. These are similar to abrasive exfoliants you might use at home, but the pressure makes them highly effective. Some people have a personal preference for one over the other. It’s a matter of choice. Both will yield similar results, though many people prefer the efficiency of the dermaplaning process.

What Other Benefits Does Dermaplaning Offer?

After you’ve received a dermaplaning treatment, anything you do to your skin will be more affective. The dead skin cells that once sat on top of your face acted as a barrier between your skin and your skincare products. Inevitably, many of the nourishing ingredients were unable to penetrate that layer of dead skin, leaving the healthy skin beneath thirsty.
