Before indulging in a manicure or pedicure, most of us have stood before the color wall, sometimes bold and secure with our color choice and other times timid and unsure. On the surface, we think of the rainbow as seven colors. When faced with the giant wall of lacquers, we realize what an understatement that is. Sure, there are seven main colors, but each one of them has hundreds of hues and can come in any number of finishes, from glittery to shimmery to flat matte. All the options can make it surprisingly difficult to pick a color.
I always try to venture out of my usual French Manicure or Pedicure with new colors that have been carefully formulated and selected to accessorize and complement trends and movement on the runways. But, I seem to always come back to my love affair with deep red, Spell Bound, and the infamous French, French Tip with Idyllic Overlay; all SpaRitual, all the time.
When I am feeling a bit bolder and am able to step out of my usual self, I try something new. Sometimes I make the bold choice of being ambitiously adventurous, and I ask the Greentoes manicurists to apply an array of colors on my toes and nails at the same time, varying color on each finger or toe. Some new faves that are trending are Grace Matte Finish (Cream Color Nude), Solaris (Orange Autumn Tone), Color Trip (Strong Pink with Purple Tone). I am crossing my fingers, very carefully, if freshly painted, that I will try one of these, SpaRitual Lacquers at Greentoes, within the next month. I will, I will, I will.
Step out of your comfort zone and try something new once in a while, but make sure the color you choose makes you feel happy. Maybe you love the deep rustic red of desert clay, or the dreamy green of a pine tree. No matter what color you choose, be sure that you can look down at your beautiful nails and smile.
