Since 2011, when the concept for our business was created and late 2012 when the concept finally become a reality, we could only dream of being as blessed and as lucky as we’ve been. Thank you, Arizona, for believing in us.
What Makes Us So Different
There’s another reason why we feel so fortunate to have been voted one of the best nail salons in Arizona, and it’s because of what makes us so different from the other salons that made the list. It’s the fundamental difference in our philosophy, and what it means for the values we strive to bring to our community and to the world. We care about the health of our bodies as much as we care about the health of the planet, and that’s something we’ve strived to incorporate into our business since its inception.
We cater to vegans, as well as the average everyday person who is concerned about the environment. We use organic products as often as possible and actively seek to avoid products that contain chemicals and toxins. A manicure or a pedicure isn’t as great as it can be when the products used contain the “big three”, or any of the chemicals in their periphery. We exclusively use vegan cruelty free lacquers and care products that are formulated without BPT, camphor, toluene, formaldehyde and its derivatives, as well as synthetic colorants.
The recognition we’ve received is obviously resonating with the locals who are looking to avoid the harmful products used by most nail care providers. We’re able to help environmentally friendly visitors indulge in a little pampering to help them look and feel their best without fear of what they’re using on their bodies. We’re the standout on that list. We know we’re making a positive impact and catering to people who share our same concerns. Our vision vividly came to life and was embraced by the people who understand what it means.
Why We’re Proud
Greentoes is the brainchild of the Tucson born and raised Christina Rossetti Thompson and her supportive husband, Victor Thompson. They envisioned creating a salon and spa that was somewhat off the beaten path – eco chic and compassionate. The idea of a green salon and spa was somewhat unexplored, especially in the area. It seemed to be difficult to satisfy so many special criteria, but we persisted and watched our business grow.
We wanted to use products with ingredients we understood and didn’t have to worry about. We wanted to create a calm inner sanctum where people could be pampered with these wholesome vegan organic products. We wanted our customers to feel both at one with themselves and at one with the planet. We knew that it was more than just the products – the business itself needed to look right, feel right, and provide the highest standard of service to be a worthy contender in our community.
Being recognized with this award shows us that our persistence and our unique concept were able to come together to form everything we could ever want. Running a business isn’t always easy and it’s the moments like these that remind us that what we’ve worked so hard to build is benefitting the community we cherish so dearly.
